The IAFM Cologne International Piano Competition 2024 is an open competition which aims to offer the talented young artists an international platform and supports opportunity for young artists to gain experience.
The competition will be held Online during May & June 2024 and is open to pianists from any Nationality.

Program
The competition will be held in three rounds.
- First Round
A video with a maximum time of 15 minutes, which should include a work of J.S. Bach, Etüde, and a one movement of piano sonata from classical periods.
- Semifinal Round
Competitor should prepare a program of not more than 25 minutes, with a free choice of repertoire. One piece from the first round should be performed again in the semi-finals round.
- Final Round
Selected finalists must prepare a program of not more than 30 minutes, with a fee choice of repertoire. Repertoire from Preliminary Rounds cannot be repeated in the Finals. One piece from the semifinal round should be performed again in the Finals round.

General information about video application
Every round consists of an evaluation of a submitted video recording (e.g., a YouTube link, Dropbox, Google Drive, One Drive, or any similar downloadable alternative). The link must be sent to info@iafm-koeln.de.
The following requirements apply to the submitted videos:
All works must be memorized and should be performed without repeats.
Multi-movement works do not need to be performed in their entirety; single movements are acceptable.
The recordings must not be older than 3 months and only contain the repertoire required for the Competition.
Videos must be unedited and in one take in horizontal mode. (Without transitions, or additional effects)
The applicant’s hands and face must be always clearly visible.
Applicants must say their name, age group and The International Piano Competition of IAFM Cologne 2024 before the start of the performance.
